SPEEDY SIGNS PENROSE SUMMER LEAGUE

TERM ONE AND FOUR​​​​​​​

Auckland Netball operates all year round providing playing opportunities for everyone. Our leagues are designed to be fun, social and outdoor competitions where you can grab your friends, family or workmates and have a run-around. Our aim is to provide as many opportunities for our community to play as possible. We take team and individual registrations so you don’t have to be affiliated with a club. Most leagues are open to Seniors and Juniors, at St Johns and Windmill Park.​​​​​​​

We accept individual and team registrations. There are opportunities across our Junior and Senior grades for all players to participate.

New for 2024 - We have introduced a Walking Netball Senior Grade. If you want to play netball but running and jumping isn't for you, why not give Walking Netball a go!

Note that the previous 'Mixed' Senior grades are now Open grades with no gender restrictions.

Auckland Netball competitions are venue-based competitions. All competition games are to be held at Auckland Netball (St Johns and Windmill Park venues), and requests for specific game times or deferred games will not be accepted. However, Auckland Netball reserve the right to alter game schedules where deemed necessary. 

Speedy Signs Summer League

  • 8 week league
  • All games will be played outdoors
  • Teams to provide own ball, bibs, and umpires
  • Note: Teams can request assistance with umpiring and hire bibs when registering.
  • For individual registrations: numbers permitting we will put you into a team and your registration fee covers the cost of bib hire, ball, and an umpire.​​​​​​​
  • ​​​​​​​Cost: $60 Junior Individual, $80 Senior Individual
  • Cost: $350 Junior Team, $400 Senior Team.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
  • Cost: $200 Walking Netball Team, $45 Individual Walking Netball entry

Wednesday - Seniors - High School & Adults

  • Games:  6.30pm, 7.20pm, 8.10pm

  • Games: 4:00pm, 4:50pm or 5:45pm (if needed)
  • Grades: Year 1&2 (NEW for 2024), Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, Year 6, Year 7, Year 8.

Thursday - Seniors - High School & Adults

  • Games:  6.30pm, 7.20pm, 8.10pm

Junior game formats

  • Year 1&2 play 4v4
  • Year 3&4 play 5v5
  • Year 5  play 6v6
  • Year 6 play 6v6 (in Term 1. 7 v 7 in Term 4)
  • Year 7&8 play 7v7 ​​​​​​​
  • Note: Year 7&8 boys, a maximum of 3 boys are allowed on the court at any time, with only one in each area of play i.e.GS or GA | WA, C, WD | GD or GK. Boys on court at any one time should not be more than half the team.

Senior ​​​​​​​game formats (7v7)

  • Rolling subs will be in play for Summer League this term
  • See the Grade information for updated details on the new Open grade which has replaced our previous Mixed grade
  • Walking Netball play 4x 6 minute quarters (self timed)
  • ​​​​​​​All other games are 4x 10 minute quarters (centrally timed)

Senior Grades

In Term 4 we are offering the following grades for Seniors.

  • Ladies - Ladies only
  • Senior Open - Open to people of all genders, with no restrictions on gender balance within teams. This grade replaces our previous mixed grade for Term 4.
  • Walking Netball (New for Term 4) - Open to all. Games are 4x 6 minute quarters
  • College Girls - High school girls only (Year 9-13)
  • College Open - Open to high school (Year 9-13) students of all genders, with no restrictions on gender balance within teams. This grade replaces our previous mixed grade for Term 4.
